How it works

ROOST handles the customer, the booking and the report platform. You turn up, fly well, and get paid.

Join the network
Pay your £99 annual network fee, complete our onboarding, and you're active in your postcode area. We verify your CAA licence and insurance before you're live.

Accept local bookings
Bookings appear in your ROOST dashboard. You choose which to accept. We prioritise Flyers with the best availability and ratings in each area.

Complete the visit
Arrive at the property, carry out your exterior drone visit using our checklist, and upload your footage and notes through the ROOST app. Takes around 90 minutes including travel prep.

Get paid
£30 per completed visit lands in your account weekly. Build a repeat local customer base and your income compounds with each annual rebooking.

We keep the bar clear and fair. These aren't bureaucratic hurdles — they're what makes ROOST trustworthy for homeowners.

CAA authorisation
An A2 Certificate of Competency, GVC, or Operational Authorisation from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

Public liability insurance
Minimum £1M PLI covering drone operations. Many pilots already have this — we can recommend providers if needed.

Smartphone & data
To access the ROOST Flyer app, upload footage, and receive bookings. iOS or Android.

Your own transport
You travel to properties in your local area. Most Flyers work within a 10-15 mile radius of home.

A capable drone
4K video capability minimum. DJI Mini series, Air series or equivalent. We'll confirm compatibility during onboarding.

ROOST Reports carry our name. We look for Flyers who take their time and care about the quality of what they capture.
